Their flagship wine, HaLo Cabernet Sauvignon, is named for their children, Hailey and Loren, who grew up in the middle of their Hillspring Vineyard in the Mayacamas foothills of western Napa Valley, the source of this superb red wine. The vineyard’s rocky, shallow soils, coupled with a climate protected from fog and wind, make Hillspring the perfect spot to grow exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon.
HaLo Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits seductive, complex aromas of ripe dark fruits, vanilla bean, chocolate, molasses, tobacco and mint. Lushly textured, its opulent, layered flavors are bolstered by ripe, warm tannins and savory roast coffee tones that enrich its long, luxurious finish.
An April frost and May rains were followed by ideal summer growing conditions of warm days and cool nights. Hot weather in late September accelerated ripening, but cooler temperatures in October allowed the grapes to develop concentrated fruit flavors, resulting in red wines with excellent color and intense, balanced flavors.
HaLo is aged in small French oak barrels for up to 30 months. They select only the very best barrel lots for the final blend, which boasts a complex bouquet, rich, vibrant flavors, and a long, mouth-filling finish.
HaLo Cabernet Sauvignon should be reserved for the finest cuts of full-flavored beef, lamb and game.
