Io Syrah Ryan Road Vineyard is one of a series of vineyard designated Syrah wines we are introducing to express the diversity and distinctive nature of Syrah. While Io, which was introduced in 1999, is a blend of Rhone varietals, Io Syrah is 100% Syrah from select vineyards on the Central Coast of California. The 2001 Io Syrah Ryan Road Vineyard is remarkably concentrated and lush with aromas of red plum, ripe berries, and blackberry jam with hints of white pepper, floral notes, and spice. A burst of fruit, including blackberry and plum flavors, greets the palate and is enhanced by a rich, full mid-palate and plush tannins.
