NV - Hardy Whisker Blake Port	Product Code: HARDNV00000264 Price: Check Latest Around 1900, the tranquility of Hardys Tintara vineyards were frequently interrupted by the crack of a shotgun and flocks of startled Starlings heading heavenwards. Behind the large gun lurked a roguish little bloke known as Whiskers Blake. Whiskers' job was scaring birds away from the grapes. One look at Whiskers with his battered hat and wild beard was probably enough, but the gun ensured his beloved grapes were safe. The cunning Whiskers found certain aspects of his job particularly rewarding. To be certain his hard work was ensuring a quality product, he regularly 'borrowed' a bottle or two of Hardys ports for testing purposes. Whiskers Blake Port was especially selected from premium aged tawny ports. All components were matured in small oak casks for an average of 8 years. The wines were blended to attain the classic characters and qualities of an outstanding Tawny Port. The colour is rich with olive hues. The nose is reminiscent of chocolate with coffee overtones. The palate is smooth and mellow and of good length with a dry finish. Classic rancio characters are also evident. WS: Succulent and smooth, this tremendously complex tawny is layered with caramel, walnut, coffee, almond and orange peel flavors, long, elegant and spicy in the mouth. All this and wow, what a price -- this wine could double as a Best Buy.
