Round Pond Cabernet Sauvignon
This rich and inviting 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Complex and elegant aromas of dark cherries and fresh red fruits abound. They are complemented by cola, brown sugar, cocoa, chaparral and cloves on the nose. The well rounded tannins are structured and framed and balance the concentrated core of fruit that echoes off the palate. Notes of tobacco and nougat finish the wine. Aged for 19 months in 70% new French oak, this wine will cellar beautifully for up to 15 years.
David Arthur Meritaggio
A dark ruby red color with a light magenta hue offers aromas of plum-cherry, baked strawberries, and red currant followed by notes of earth and spice, notably sage, mace, and hints of lavender. The entry is velvety and fine grained in tannin texture and has a moderate acidity that carries long across the palate. A luxurious finish carries flavors of cherry, toasted oak and star anise.
Chappellet Mountain Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2009 Mountain Cuvee shows the appealing depth and nuance of a true Bordeaux blend. The aromas offer a complex mélange of spicy red fruit, rum raison, cedar, sweet tobacco, clove, cinnamon, dark chocolate and bay leaf. On the palate, the texture is smooth and lush, with lingering flavors of sweet cherry and plum. Though there is ample weight and richness, elegance is really the theme of this complex and balanced wine.
